So it's Thursday and we are home. We decided to head home yesterday afternoon from Clayton NM.
Now I'll get to the whole story on why were home so early....
At Palo Duro and on the way
Satuday and Sunday both went great, Jax did good in the car and he did good when we stopped in Palo Duro. I had high hopes for the whole trip. We got to south fork CO and the place was packed we were staying at. The weather totally made up for that though! It was beautiful! Anyways we got set up and unloaded and Jax was getting fussy, not wanting to nap.
My Boys in South Fork CO
The next day Jax did the same, fussy fussy, not napping and what felt to us like he was screaming constantly. We tried everything. Nothing worked.
Like I said the weather was perfect- 70's and low 80's then got to the 50's at night. That was basically what was keeping us there. The only thing we could figure out was the altitude. He was fussy even nursing. I was loosing my mind!
Like I said... It was beautiful...
By Tuesday morning I was in tears and at my wits end. This was the first time I have been so overwhelmed by his fussyness that I was crying. I just wanted to be home. Too bad that was 12 hrs away....
We ended up packing up and leaving... We didn't really know where we were going but we were trying to get to lower altitude. I was so upset to leave the weather. For one Hunter never gets a full week off of work and I knew it was supposed to be 112 at home this week. I didn't really feel like spending the rest of our vacation cooped up in the house.
We made it to clayton NM and the weather was still pretty nice there. Jax seemed instantly better. He was also up every two hrs at night while we were in CO so I was exhausted. He just wasnt himself.
Hunter and I were happy in NM, the place we were at was really empty so I liked that. It was peaceful and relaxing and my baby was HAPPY!! (most importantly)
Wednesday we woke up and made pancakes, had burgers on the grill for lunch, and set outside....
We also played a game of putt putt- I made a hole in one the first one and was sure I was about to kick my hubby's butt!!!
NOPE wrong- it was all down hill after that- but it was fun. We are both very competitive-
We set around some more and decided to head home at 3:30pm ( who knows why)
Jax didnt like the idea apparently- he was mad more than he normally was in the car. PLUS we had an 8hr drive ahead of us. He napped some, but thank goodness for baby einstein. He loves it!
He threw the biggest fit EVER right around bed time.. I felt horrible for having to do a pretend bedtime then stick him back in the car seat. He gets a bath everynight for as long as I can remember and last night was his first night not to. We did lotion and jammies then nursed and he was out and made it the rest of the way home. We got home about 12:30am, he never woke up from carseat to bed even! And he was back to his normal up twice!! Which is OK with me compared to his 5 or so the nights before!!!
I now feel like I could sleep for days and never want to get back in the car....
BUT were actually thinking of jointing a few good friends in San Angelo for the weekend. We will see!
